Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) - The GMPTE control and manage the Transport services around the Greater Manchester area on a practical level and are independent from the GMITA, which is responsible for the finance and political management of the Transport in the area - www.gmpte.com
Metrolink - The “Tram” network in Greater Manchester is an excellent one, linking many of the towns throughout the area. The Franchise is controlled by…………….who are responsible for the day to day running of the service but the management of the service comes under the control of GMPTE - www.metrolink.co.uk
Northern Rail - The Franchise for many of the services into Manchester and through Salford, is held by Northern Rail who also operate many of the stations along the route - www.northernrail.org
Salford City Council - Salford City Council manage the Partnership and their Highways division is responsible for also managing any Travel Plans which are submitted to the Council Planning Division and involve 106 Agreements (where developers contribute to the cost of improvements to transport provision in the areas where they are developing - www.salford.gov.uk and www.salford.gov.uk/roadsafety.
