Who we are

The Salford Travel Partnership was formed in 2001 by the  Travel Co-ordinators of the Salford City Council and the University of Salford, together with the Managing Director of FIRST Manchester, to enable them to discuss relevant and important issues in trying to encourage staff to use more public transport, and less single occupancy cars. Within a very short time, other transport providers and large organisations had indicated their interest in joining the Partnership and the present total of 10 active Partners was reached in 2009 when ARRIVA Bus company also joined the “Team”.

The Partners, who meet every month at Salford City Council Civic Centre, are now responsible for assisting Salford City Council in delivering their Sustainable Transport Strategy and the organisation is chaired by Councillor Derek Antrobus, the Lead Development.
